How to Change the Color of an Image in Canva

This is an Arcade

Canva lets you adjust or change image colors with filters, effects, or color overlays. This is useful for branding, aesthetics, or creating uniform visuals.

1. Open Your Design in Canva

Go to Canva and open the project containing the image you want to recolor.

2. Select the Image

Click the image so the editing toolbar appears at the top.

3. Use Edit Photo

Click Edit photo in the top toolbar.

4. Apply Filters or Adjust Colors

Use Filters for quick style changes, or go to Adjust to tweak brightness, contrast, saturation, and tint for custom coloring.

5. Add a Color Overlay (Optional)

For a solid recolor effect, add a Rectangle shape from Elements, place it over the image, change its color, then lower its Transparency so the image shows through.

6. Replace Colors in Editable Graphics

If the image is a Canva element (like an icon or illustration, not a photo), you can click on the color tiles in the toolbar to directly change its colors.
