Changelog

The latest Arcade feature releases, improvements, design updates, and bug fixes.
February 19, 2026

Your most requested feature is here.

This month, we launched on Windows desktop. It's been one our top requests, and we're excited to finally bring it to life. We also shipped new permissions for easier collaboration, along with editing improvements that give you more control over your demos.

🖥️ Arcade for Windows Desktop

Arcade on desktop is no longer just for Mac. Windows users can now capture anything on their screen directly from a native desktop app - no browser required.

Record desktop applications, local files, or content across multiple tabs. You get all the same power you're used to: interactive demos, videos, screenshots, AI captions and voiceovers, and easy sharing.

If your workflow lives outside the browser, Arcade now meets you where you work.

Huge thanks to Dillon for bringing our most requested feature to life!

🔐 Roles & Permissions for Arcade Demos

Collaborating on private Arcades is now more flexible and secure with updated roles and permissions.

You can invite collaborators as Editors, who can modify content alongside the owner, or as Viewers, who get read-only access. Private Arcades require explicit access to view, while public Arcades work like unlisted YouTube links - shareable via link but not discoverable.

Share private work with clients, partners, or teammates - and stay in control of who can see and edit your content.

Big thanks to Alex for building this out!

🎯 Hotspot Any Area

You can now select and highlight any area in an Arcade demo - not just a single point. Draw a hotspot around an entire region to guide viewers' attention exactly where it needs to go.

This gives you more flexibility to call out sections of a UI, a group of elements, or any part of the screen that matters most.

Shoutout to Arjun for shipping this!

✏️ Rich Text Editor

No more Markdown. You can now write and format text directly in a full WYSIWYG editor.

Bold, italic, underline, and other formatting options are all available with familiar controls - no syntax to remember. Just write, style, and move on.

Thanks to Nick for making this happen!

January 26, 2026

Kicking off the year at full speed.

This January, we ran our internal Turbo hackathon and shipped a set of highly requested features in a short amount of time. Every update in this release came directly out of Turbo, focused on improving the core workflows teams rely on in Arcade.

Over the past few weeks, those changes have rolled out to help you create faster, drive more engagement, and scale Arcade more easily across your team.

🎞️ Make on-brand, animated GIFs in seconds

If you’re using Creator Studio to generate visuals for social ads, blog banners, or LinkedIn posts, this one’s for you.

We've just added animated GIFs support. Instead of a static image, your on-brand visuals can include motion to help content stand out. Animations are known to drive higher engagement on LinkedIn, across social channels, and on webpages - take advantage of that without any extra work.

Huge thanks to Sydney for bringing this to life!

🎙️ More expressive AI voiceovers with ElevenLabs v3

When we reviewed 14M Arcade sessions from the past year, one thing was clear: voiceovers boost engagement by roughly 5% compared to demos with no voice at all.

We’ve now upgraded Arcade to support ElevenLabs v3. You can control emotion, delivery, and direction using audio tags, giving voiceovers more nuance and personality without manual recording.

Clearer tone, better pacing, and more human delivery.

Thanks to Pawel for pushing this update forward.

🔒 Create Private Teams for agencies and partners

Agencies, consultancies, and partner teams often manage multiple clients at once.

With Private Teams, each team can now see only their own content and has no access to other teams in the workspace. This makes it safe and simple to collaborate across many customers in a single Arcade instance.

Available on Enterprise plans. Contact us if you’re interested.

Big thanks to Nick for making this happen.

✏️ Capture and edit recording captions

Whether you’re recording screens, adding camera footage, or layering in voiceovers, polishing the final result should be easy.

This update gives you more control over how your captions show up:

  • Generate captions for both camera and voice recordings.
  • Edit captions across video recordings. Captions are visible in both the editor and the viewer, and fully editable as text.

More control over every recording, from first capture to final playback.

Thanks to Simon for pushing this forward.

✂️ Trim and edit camera recordings

Many teams add camera footage to make demos feel more personal, but re-recording to fix timing or mistakes can slow things down.

You can now trim and edit camera recordings directly in Arcade. Adjust the length and timing of your recording without starting over.

Clean up quickly, stay focused, and keep demos moving forward.

Huge thanks to Lucy for shipping this highly requested feature!

🔌 Provision users and teams via API

For larger enterprises, managing users and teams manually can slow things down.

You can now add users and teams programmatically using Arcade’s User Provisioning API. This makes it easier to onboard teams at scale and keep access in sync with your internal systems.

Built for IT and platform teams who want automation, not admin work.

You can refer to the API here.

Kudos to Sharad for shipping this!

📊 Sync demo insights via API to your GTM systems

GTM teams often want Arcade usage data alongside the rest of their customer data.

With the new Insights API, you can sync demo engagement across contacts, leads, accounts, or other audiences directly into your CRM, marketing automation platform, or data warehouse.

Easier reporting, deeper analysis, and more flexibility in how you use Arcade data.

You can refer to the API here.

Another strong addition from Sharad!

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Fixed video playback and export issues, including a temporary export failure for generated videos.
  • Resolved media library issues where hover actions like “add as step” did not appear after scrolling.
  • Fixed access and permissions issues across teams and collections, ensuring only the correct roles can join teams or access content.
  • Resolved caption, voiceover, and translation issues that could cause formatting errors or crashes.
  • Fixed sharing and collaboration issues, including missing names on invites and unexpected redirects.

If you’ve made it this far – thank you! 🎉

January 12, 2026

New year, new ways to create with Arcade.

Happy 2026 everyone! We’re kicking off the year with a set of improvements that make Arcade faster, easier, and more flexible to use.

In our first week back from the holidays, we shipped two highly requested updates.

🎬 Polish AI videos with a few clicks

If you’ve tried Creator Studio, you’ve seen how quickly it can generate a product overview or sizzle reel video.

Over the past few weeks, we added editing controls so you can fine-tune the AI video result:

  • Set duration of the AI-generated video (by seconds, or number of scenes)
  • Change music, or remove music all together
  • Add or delete sequences in the video
  • Add, swap, or edit scenes in a sequence
  • Trim video clips in a scene

AI gets you started fast. You stay in control of the final polish.

Shoutout to Sydney for pushing this forward!

🏎️ Embed Arcades directly in Intercom to resolve issues faster

If you use Intercom for customer support, you can now drop an Arcade directly into an article. Paste the link and the demo embeds automatically, no setup required.

Show customers exactly how to resolve an issue instead of explaining it in text.

Kudos to Kobi, the wizard behind Arcade support!

Meet the Arcade Creator Studio.

We launched a new way for marketing teams to create beautiful, on-brand videos and visuals of their product – without waiting on overwhelmed designers and expensive agencies. This isn’t just another generic AI tool. This is AI that starts with your product and your brand, and then generates studio-quality assets for your team.

We’ve partnered with dozens of design partners to build this, and are incredibly proud of this launch.

Here's what comes with Creator Studio:

Always on-brand assets to help your product stand out

Creator Studio pulls in differentiating brand details – including typography, colors, spacing, tone, visual style, and more – directly from your website. This becomes the foundation for every asset you create, ensuring everything that follows is consistent, cohesive, and unmistakably yours.

Beautiful product videos, instantly created with AI

Creator Studio generates headlines, voiceovers, pacing, and visuals based on your Brand Kit and product capture. You choose the voice and soundtrack, then refine the details in minutes.

Image generation that actually feels like your brand

Instead of producing chaotic AI artifacts, Creator Studio rebuilds visual assets from your real brand patterns, ensuring every image aligns with your design system.

Auto-updated demos that keep up with product changes, created by our Agent

The moment your product UI changes, your demos don’t go out of date. Arcade logs in, re-captures the new flow, rebuilds the experience, and presents an updated version for human review. Your story stays fresh across every channel with minimal effort.

Create, Share, Comment, and Blur with Confidence

We’re back with another big round of updates focused on collaboration, control, and polish.

This month, we’ve made it easier to gather precise feedback, share securely, and keep sensitive details private – plus a long list of quality-of-life improvements across video, editing, and sharing.

More details below!

🎥 Video Blur: Protect What Matters

By popular request, you can now blur parts of your video to hide sensitive information, personal data, or internal details before sharing.

Apply blur to any region of your screen recording, adjust the shape and duration, and review instantly within the editor. It’s quick, flexible, and a big win for privacy-friendly demos.

Thank you to Paweł for the sharp work here while training for an Ironman race. (Which he crushed it, course! Congrats Paweł!)

📄 Turn Demos into Step-by-Step Guides

Many of you love the step-by-step guide feature - it makes it easy to turn any Arcade into a guide for a doc, an email, or your knowledge center. Now, you can take it even further: share your guide as a link or download it as a PDF in a matter of seconds.

Thank you to Aleks and team for the glow-up on this popular capability!

💬 Comment Smarter, Together

We released commenting earlier this month so any viewer could react directly on your Arcade. We added to that this week with comment on a specific step or exact second of a video – perfect for pinpoint feedback during reviews or content approvals.

Thanks to Lucy for bringing this to life (and welcome back from Greece)!

🔗 Custom Share Links

Arcaders wanted better insights and tighter control when sharing Arcades, and now they’re here.

With Custom Share Links, you can create unique URLs with fine-grained controls for personalization, access, and analytics.

  • Link-level analytics: See who's watches, clicks, or drops off.
  • Email authentication: Require Google or Microsoft sign-in.
  • Password protected: Add an extra layer of security.
  • Auto-expire links: Keep links live only for a period of time.

Huge thanks to Alex for leading this feature.

🧑‍💼 Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Enterprise

Enterprise workspaces can now fully manage access and roles with Role-Based Access Control.

Every member has a clear permission level – and every workspace includes free Viewer seats to make collaboration simple.

  • Viewer – Watch and comment
  • Collaborator – Edit but can’t publish
  • Editor – Create and publish
  • Admin – Full workspace access
  • Billing User – Manage seats and payments

Thanks to Ben and Lucy!

  • Improved PDF export for step-by-step guides – cleaner layout and faster downloads.
  • Added 4x, 8x, and 16x speed!

Sharing & Collaboration

  • Shared Collections now respect your workspace’s theme and color palette.
  • Avery can now be disabled on desktop, giving you full control over when to use AI assistance.

Collaborate with Confidence

Last week, we shipped a bunch of new sharing, feedback, and permission controls to make it easier (and safer) to share Arcades across your team, customers, and funnel.

Custom Share Links

Arcaders wanted better insights into how specific people engage with their Arcades, and more ways to control who sees what.
Now, you can create unique links with fine-grained controls for personalization, access, and security.

  • Link-level analytics — See engagement for each link so you know who’s watching, clicking, or dropping off.
  • Email authentication for viewers — Ask viewers to sign in with Google or Microsoft for accurate identification. Great for 1:1 shares and seeing exactly how those authenticated viewers interacted.
  • Auto-expire links — Set a time limit so links stay live only as long as you want them to.
  • Password protection — Add an extra layer of security for private or sensitive Arcades.

Thanks to Alex for leading the charge on Custom Links!

Commenting (Now from the Share Page)

Commenting used to be limited to your team and hidden inside the Arcade app. Now, anyone — viewers or teammates — can leave comments directly on shared Arcades.

No more chasing feedback in Slack or email threads. It’s a faster, simpler way to collect input from stakeholders, prospects, or anyone you’re collaborating with.

Thanks to Val and Lucy for bringing this to life.

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for Enterprise

Enterprise teams need clear control over who can do what within Arcade.
With Role-Based Access Control, admins can now manage access at scale. We now offer roles for:

  • Viewer — Watch and comment.
  • Collaborator — Edit, but can’t publish without admin approval.
  • Editor — Create and publish Arcades.
  • Admin — Full access to everything.
  • Billing user — Manage payments and seats.

You can have different roles across different teams, and every enterprise workspace now comes with free viewer seats, making it easy for everyone to benefit from Arcade.

Reach out to your account exec to get set up, and big thanks to Ben and Lucy for driving RBAC forward.

What We've Been Up To

If the changelog is a little quiet this week, it's because we have a bunch of things (like a big bunch of things!) cooking to share in a week or two. Keep your eyes peeled! For now, we'll just share some Really Nice Improvements(TM) and Really Nice Bug Fixes(TM) to make your lives easier.

Really Nice Improvements

We’ve shipped a few thoughtful touches to make your workflow easier:

  • The desktop app remembers your previous recording mode, so re-recording is quicker.
  • You can now set a language in your share link, so viewers see localized content right away — perfect for sending Arcades to customers in their native language.
  • Arcades in Collections now fill more space (less tiny, more immersive).
  • Mobile editing is smoother: proper autoplay behavior, background support, and button logic.

Really Nice Bug Fixes

  • Replay button no longer overlaps the viewer layout.
  • Hotspots no longer get stuck to the top of the stage.
  • Player controls only appear on hover — as intended.
  • Adding a button to a mobile step now disables autoplay automatically (just like hotspots and callouts).
  • Chrome mic input bugs are fixed — audio now records reliably when switching devices.
  • Downloading a screenshot from a split video now works as expected.
  • Company logos hosted via Clearbit now appear consistently.
  • Access issues with domain-restricted Arcades are fixed — no more looping redirects.

So many fun things to share this week!

Share Panel, Redesigned

We’ve fully redesigned the Share panel to make it faster, clearer, and easier to manage who sees what. It’s now much easier to see what’s been shared externally vs. internally — and stay tuned,  more granular controls are on the way.

Huge thanks to Aleks for the clean new look and logic!

Chapter Buttons, Hotspots, and Callouts Linking to New Places

You can now link directly from one Arcade to another via chapter buttons. Build tours across products, stack use cases together, or just give your users a deeper dive.

Also: hotspots and callouts can now link to any URL — no more markdown fiddling required!

More eng work led by Aleks (who is usually a designer, but crushing engineering!)

Smarter AI Voiceovers

Need voiceovers across multiple steps? Now you can generate or remove them all at once — no more step-by-step clicking. We’ve also improved syncing, polished the UI, and made it easier to manage long Arcades.

Massive improvement thanks to Simon!

Bugs & Improvements

  • Player controls (fullscreen, CC, etc.) now only show on hover for a cleaner viewing experience.
  • Cursor visibility in preview and editor now exactly matches your toggle settings.
  • Arcade thumbnails no longer appear darker than the actual content.
  • Translated voiceovers now generate automatically when you add a new language — no more clicking "AI Translate" step-by-step.
  • Logos and buttons now reliably appear in Collections (they were disappearing for some users).
  • Removed extra spacing in the /upload page header.
August 18, 2025

Nothing big this week, just continuous improvements to your Arcade experience!

No more stretched GIFs or videos

We fixed a rendering issue where videos and GIFs appeared stretched after the first step, even when previews looked perfect. This bug was tied to how Cover vs. Fit settings were handled during export.
Big thanks to Ben for the fix!

Better control over Pan & Zoom (PZ) layers

You can now drag PZ layers by clicking anywhere, not just on the tiny icon (and we removed that icon altogether for a cleaner timeline). This also applies to other timeline layers like camera recordings.
Shoutout to Lucy for the smoother interaction!

More intuitive video trimming

When your voiceover is longer than your video, the timeline still works perfectly — no more frozen tracks or missed clicks.
Another great upgrade from Lucy.

Improvements

  • Admins can now delete any Arcade, even if they weren’t the original creator.
  • In Enterprise workspaces, admins can now see each team member’s last login to make usage tracking easier.
Both of these were shipped by Simon, his first week on the team!

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where headers, tooltips, and previews on mobile were overlapping or behaving inconsistently.
  • Private collections and embedded Arcades now load with proper layout and margins.
  • Exported GIFs now support both 720p and 4K, giving you sharper outputs.
August 7, 2025

We're back with another round of updates to make Arcade even more powerful for your team. This month brings some exciting improvements to how you create, customize, and share your content — plus several behind-the-scenes enhancements that'll make everything run smoother.

Mobile: Better recording, better viewing

You can now record your mobile screen using Arcade Desktop — just plug in your device and start capturing. We also refreshed the mobile viewing experience, with cleaner layouts and animations that make mobile Arcades feel polished and easy to follow.

Thank you Liisa for the amazing work here!

Video editing: Now smoother and more intuitive

Trimming clips feels more natural thanks to a smarter playhead, precise controls, and better post-trim behavior. These updates bring Arcade's video editor closer to the tools you already know (and we've got even more upgrades on the way).

Thank you to Lucy for taking on this on, and extra kudos for doing it as your first project at Arcade!

AI: Smarter tone, sharper output

Arcade's AI now skips irrelevant steps, writes better copy, and tailors CTAs and forms based on the tone you choose. The Sales tone will help you create the perfect Arcade for sales (with a form at the end for your prospects); the Marketing tone will automatically add a CTA. Whether you're in marketing or sales mode, Avery's gotten sharper, and your Arcades will feel more on-brand out of the box.

Thank you to Alex for this smart, helpful build!

Desktop Look Back: A huge leap forward

We posted about this (a lot), but Arcade Desktop is now much stronger: It supports video + mobile recording, area selection, and in-app AI to generate your hotspot copy. It's fast, reliable, and a great way to record Arcades outside of the browser.

Feature Improvements

Desktop & Mobile

  • The Desktop app now remembers your last screen selection, so you can start recording even faster.
  • You can now pause, restart, or abandon a recording mid-session on Desktop — more control, fewer do-overs.

Video Editing

  • A new larger timeline mode lets you focus while editing without distraction.
  • After trimming, your timeline now stays where you left it — no more unexpected jumps or zoom resets.
  • You can now use a keyboard shortcut (CMD+B) to split video steps in the editor.

AI & Accessibility

  • Translated captions from Mux are now fully supported — your videos will display in the right language automatically.
  • Exported GIFs now render in both 720p and 4K.

Workspace & Sharing

  • Workspace admins can now export a full list of team members.
  • You'll now see member counts and visibility status in the Team Settings view.
  • Enterprise customers can upload custom fonts to better match their brand.
  • Users can now hide the header entirely on public share pages — for a cleaner, more focused viewer experience.

Infrastructure Improvements

As part of our mission to hit 100% upload reliability:

  • Failed uploads in the Desktop app can now be retried manually.
  • If needed, recordings are saved locally and can be uploaded later.
  • We added automatic fallback logic to retry failed sessions.
  • The upload flow now consistently reaches 100% success under normal conditions.

Bug Fixes

Video

  • Arcades made up of only video steps will now play through correctly — no more skipping.
  • Pan & Zoom layers can now be dragged and trimmed as expected.
  • Fixed issue where double-clicking to trim would fail on video steps.
  • Timeline no longer jumps when a voiceover is longer than the video.

Mobile

  • Fixed issue where chapter preview images covered mobile text.
  • On small screens, the mobile frame no longer overlaps your content.
  • Tooltips now fit inside mobile demos built via the Figma integration.

Other

  • Wrong voiceovers no longer play when switching languages.
  • Private collections now display and load reliably.
  • Collection item order now sticks when dragging and reordering.
  • Step renaming is now applied more consistently.
  • The Daily Leads Report has no more broken links anymore.
  • Fixed awkward embed margins when Arcades are shared on external sites.
July 17, 2025

Highlight: Smoother editing, smarter trimming

We’re investing heavily in making Arcade’s video editing feel intuitive, precise, and frustration-free. This week brings two major upgrades to trimming!

While trimming:

  • The playhead now stays in place while you adjust the trim handles, giving you more precise control.
  • We added snap-to-playhead behavior to help you trim cleanly to key moments.
  • These changes apply to all trimmable elements — steps, layers, and beyond.

After trimming:

  • When you finish trimming, we no longer scroll you somewhere random or zoom out your entire timeline.
  • Trimmed-off content is visually hidden, so your view stays clean. You can drag the trim handles to reveal trimmed off content.

These small changes add up to a dramatically better editing experience — and we’re not done yet. Thank you to Lucy for leading the charge on this work!

Improvements

  • Desktop upload retries
If a video upload fails in the Desktop app (which should only happen in rare exceptions), you can now click to retry it manually.
  • Synthetic audio UX upgrade
We fixed an issue where the play button didn’t appear correctly over generated audio text. Now, it’s clear where to click.

Bug Fixes

  • Mobile: Safari background repeat
Backgrounds were repeating unexpectedly on Safari mobile. That’s been fixed.
  • “Hide from Nav” bug
When using autoplay + hide from navigation, you couldn’t toggle a step back into the nav unless autoplay was disabled. That logic’s been untangled.
  • Figma integration: Tooltip overflow on mobile
Tooltips were spilling offscreen in mobile demos created via the Figma integration. We cleaned that up so they fit snugly, and you can keep syncing Figma mockups directly to Arcade.
  • Video-only Arcades skipping steps
Arcades with only video steps and no hotspots were skipping over steps unintentionally. That’s now fixed — all steps will play as expected.

Highlight: Arcade Desktop 3.0 is here — and it’s a game-changer

After a long break, we're back with great updates! Our new desktop app is faster, sleeker, and supports mobile recording. Plug in your device, capture real interactions, and edit with the full power of Arcade.
The redesign also makes it easier to manage recordings, select specific areas, and enjoy a smoother editing experience all around. Read the full launch post here.

Improvements

  • Mobile viewer experience
Viewers on mobile now get a smoother, more polished experience — no pinching and zooming required. We've also added Avery and automagic video split for mobile-recorded Arcades, so they're ready to share with customers before you know it.
  • Non-Chrome onboarding flow
If you’re not using Chrome, we’ll no longer nag you to install the extension. Instead, we’ll guide you straight to the new desktop app — a better fit for more users.
  • Custom fonts for enterprise
Enterprise teams can now upload their own fonts to match brand guidelines and keep Arcades perfectly on-brand. Reach out to us to get started!
  • Fit embeds, no rounded corners
Embedding into a square or sharp-edged container? You can now remove rounded corners from "fit" embed layouts for a cleaner visual match.

Bug Fixes

  • Pan & zoom layers can now be dragged and trimmed again.
A bug was preventing pan and zoom layers from being editable — fixed!
  • Video trimming no longer jumps to the start.
When trimming a clip, the ribbon used to auto-zoom to the beginning — super annoying. Now it stays where you left it.
  • All ElevenLabs voices now appear
Previously missing ElevenLabs voices will now properly load in the voice picker.

June 12, 2025

Highlight: Avery just got smarter ✨

Avery now knows when a step needs text — and when it doesn’t.
We’ve upgraded Avery so it automatically detects which steps need hotspot copy and which ones don’t. If a step doesn’t need extra context, it’ll autoplay smoothly. Less typing, more flow. Thank you Alex for the hard work on this one!

Improvements

  • Chapters: now wider and better looking
We’ve expanded the max width for chapter content so buttons don’t get squished and everything feels more readable.
  • Better language support, everywhere
You can now set your preferred language, and Avery will generate hotspot copy in that language — more inclusive, less editing.
  • Translated captions
  • Captions for uploaded or recorded MP4s used to show up only in English. Now, if you translate your video, the captions will be translated too, automatically.

Fixes & Small Wins

  • Deleting things just got less scary
We now show exactly what you’re deleting — whether it's an Arcade or a single step. You’ll see names, previews, and confirmations that make it clear before anything goes.
Huge thanks to brand new Arcade engineer Lucy for fixing this!

June 5, 2025

Highlight: Find and trace your media in seconds

The new Media Library filters make it easy to locate the exact screenshot or video you need — and see where it’s being used.
You can now search by media type, grab a direct asset URL, and view which Arcades include that asset. Whether you're reusing content or cleaning house, it's a big step toward smarter asset management.

Improvements

  • Turn videos into Arcades (Beta)
Upload a video and convert it into a step-by-step Arcade — perfect for turning old demos into interactive flows. Reach out to join the beta :) 🎬 Thanks to Pawel for this big step forward!
  • Chapters that breathe
Chapter content used to be too narrow — now it’s got room to stretch out and look great. Props to Aleks for the upgrade.
  • Choose your mic and camera in the extension
Thanks to Ben, you can finally select the exact mic and camera you want before recording. No more mystery audio sources.
  • Avery joins the Desktop app
Our AI helper Avery now writes hotspot copy for Arcades recorded with the Desktop app. Thanks to Syd for making the magic happen!
  • Creator roles are now live
For Enterprise customers, we now offer Creator access so your teammates can build Arcades but still get permission before publishing. Keeps things organized and secure.
  • Export your workspace members
Need a full list of who’s on your team? You can now export all workspace members straight from settings.
May 20, 2025

This week’s triple drop: 3 big features, 3 big wins

📚 Chapters, now with style

Our redesigned chapter screens are here — more polished, more customizable, and easier to navigate.
Make your story flow beautifully with clear breaks and better context for viewers.
See the new look:

🛠️ Versioned Arcades (Beta)

Make changes behind the scenes and only publish when you're ready.
No more live-editing stress. With Versioned Arcades, you can edit, review, and push updates on your timeline — perfect for public-facing demos or embedded Arcades.
🔗 Watch how it works:

🎬 Never lose a recording again

We’ve added a manual fallback option for video uploads. If your upload ever fails, head to Chrome Extension settings to download the raw recording directly. Your work is safe — no more starting over.

May 14, 2025

Highlight: Turn any Arcade into a shareable doc 📝

Step-by-step export is now live for everyone!
Need to turn an Arcade into a written guide? You can now export every step — with text, screenshots, and even GIFs for video steps — in just one click.
Paste it into Notion, your help center, onboarding docs, or wherever your team lives.

Improvements

  • Versioned Arcades (Beta)
You can now make updates without publishing them immediately. With versioning, you can draft, review, and only publish changes when you're ready. Great for customer-facing Arcades or anything that needs a review loop. Want in? Join the beta.
  • AI upgrade: now using GPT-4.1.
We’ve upgraded our in-app AI to use OpenAI’s latest model, GPT-4.1 — smarter suggestions, faster performance, better everything.
  • Upload resilience: still climbing.
We’re continuing work to make video uploads more robust — fewer errors, smoother processing, stronger infrastructure all around.

Bug Fixes

  • We squashed a few bugs that were affecting pan & zoom and video editing within step-by-step exports — it’s all much more stable now.

May 6, 2025

Highlight: Record just what you need

The Arcade Desktop app now lets you select a specific area before you start recording.
Whether you’re demoing a tiny modal or a massive dashboard, you can now zero in on just the part of your screen you want to capture — no more post-recording cropping or awkward framing. It’s the easiest way to get polished, focused demos from the start.

Improvements

  • Export with sharp edges.
Have a square container but your Arcade is all rounded? When exporting, you'll now see a toggle to switch to square corners, so your embeds match your site’s style.
  • Step-by-step export (beta!)
Want to turn your Arcade into an SOP or help doc? We’ve launched a beta version of step-by-step export, which lets you download all steps + hotspot text in one go. Perfect for wikis and internal documentation. Reach out if you'd like to join the beta!
  • Clarity for restricted tabs.
If you open the Chrome Extension on a restricted tab (like the Chrome Web Store), you'll now see a clear message — "This tab is restricted.” No more confusing errors.
  • Progress you can see.
Uploading an MP4 into your Arcade? You’ll now see a progress bar so you know exactly how long it’ll take.
  • Tall Arcade, tidy layout.
In Arcades with very tall dimensions, the title and description were overlapping with the content (yikes). We added scrolling to keep everything clean and readable.

Bug Fixes

  • Callouts with arrows were flashing when the first step loaded. Ben hunted it down and zapped the glitch — thanks, Ben!
  • Callouts with pan & zoom were showing up massive. Luckily, Liisa, our newest engineer (!!), jumped in and got things looking right. Welcome aboard, Liisa 👋

Welcome to your Arcade Room 🪩

A new way to share your Arcades with more context and direction.

Instead of just dropping a demo link, now you can create a custom Room that gives viewers a clear intro, description, downloadable files, CTA, and more, making it easier to turn demos into decisions.

Improvements

  • Our Desktop app now supports native audio and video capture while recording! You can export as a playable video or turn it into an interactive Arcade — your choice.
  • We brought back the team member and invite count badges on the Members Settings page. We dropped them in the new Workspaces UI, but it was hard to keep track of who’s in and who’s invited. This should be a lot more obvious now!
  • Our video-to-Arcade beta keeps getting stronger — it now supports longer uploads and better performance overall. Want in? Drop us a note.
  • Collections got a bunch of love this week: Smoother loading states, cleaned-up edit buttons, and custom favicons. 🎉

Bug Fixes

  • A paused Arcade would sometimes play on its own when switching tabs. 👻 No more ghost Arcades.
  • The autoplay icon was showing up uninvited. We taught it some manners, and it now only shows up upon request.

Bring your own voice

Our improved ElevenLabs integration lets you customize voices with your own API key.

Prefer a different accent? Want to use a cloned voice that sounds just like you? Now you can. With our ElevenLabs integration, you can plug in your own API key and get full control over which voices show up in Arcade. Perfect for creators who want to stay on-brand, in every sense.

Watch how it works:

Improvements

  • We gave the Hotspot inspector a little spa day — it’s smoother, cleaner, and easier to work with.
  • You can now add a custom favicon to any shared Collection. Stay polished and on brand.
  • When choosing an English-speaking synthetic voice, it’s now easier to pick exactly the accent you want. No more accidental Aussies.

Bug Fixes

  • Some users were getting 404s right after signing up. Very uncool. Totally fixed.
  • Drag actions in canvas-based tools (like Figma and Miro) weren’t always recorded properly — but they glide like butter now.
  • Folder themes weren’t applying reliably. Now they are! Theme it up.
  • In rare cases, Arcade images loaded but the video didn’t. This was a video processor resilience issue — we’ve made it stronger this week, and we’re continuing to reinforce it. If you still see issues, let us know!

Closing the chapter on another great year of storytelling.

As 2024 wraps up, we can't help but look back at the amazing teams and stories that make up the Arcade community. We reached 100,000 Arcades published 🎉, expanded to over 15,000 teams, and secured a Series A fundraising round led by Kleiner Perkins to build for the next chapter of interactive content. These milestones would not have been possible without the support we received—big and small—from customers like you along the way. Every published Arcade, support ticket opened, and conversation has contributed to our efforts in building a beautiful, easy-to-use product, and, importantly, one that’s fun to create with—so thank you.

Inspired by last year’s inaugural campaign, we released our 2nd annual 'Year in Review'. This interactive recap showcases how customers used Arcade to power their storytelling and measure success.

Here at Arcade, we're big believers in '"dogfooding'" our product, or as Caroline likes to say, "drinking our own champagne 🥂 😉 ." If we're not using Arcade to tell our story, how can we expect you to do it? This 'Year in Review' is our way of celebrating your success while inspiring new ways to make Arcade an even more significant part of your storytelling (and it pushes us to make the product even better!).

We had a 'wicked' time pulling it together; here's a great example of the experience 🪄:

December 13, 2024

Last week was a shorter week for the Arcade team, as we came together (from across the globe!) for a company offsite to reflect on 2024 and kick-off plans for 2025! We can't wait to share more about what we have planned to build next year.

Feature Improvements: Default settings

Our goal is to ensure you can create beautiful content quickly. That's where defaults come in –– to polish your content without you having to think about it. Now, when you build an Arcade, you'll automatically see:

  • Chapters are light vs. dark
  • Chapter text aligns to the left vs. center
  • Arcades will not have a wrapper vs. a light wrapper with the Arcade title

Avery ✨ (beta)

When adding a camera recording, it's easy to forget that music was playing 🎶 in the background or that you took too long of a pause ⏸️ between sections. It happens (and it's annoying to start from scratch!)

Now, with our new AI partner, Avery ✨ (beta), you can get studio-quality recordings with the press of a button. Avery removes background music and silences and polishes the recording to make it crisp every time.

Performance mode 🏎️

Uploads are now 4x faster! When you record an Arcade using our extension or desktop app, the time it takes to process and edit has been dramatically reduced. Performance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about that intangible feeling of "this just feels faster," making your workflow smoother and more seamless.

Feature improvements:

  • 1-click sign-in on Figma plugin: Enabling the Figma plugin is even easier as the sign in experience now stays within the modal.
  • Chapter sidebar panel: We made some design changes to the chapter sidebar panel for improved toggling and readability.

  • Added 'list view' option on the new home navigation
  • Allow for 'pinch zooming' on the video timeline
November 8, 2024

Welcome to your new home! 🏡

Everything starts here. Create Arcades, invite your teammates, and easily browse through previous content to track performance and figure out what to optimize. The new home experience was designed to help you find content faster –– whether you want to see what's new, what's trending, or which Arcades might need a refresh!

Timeline zoom 🔍

More video editing options to ensure that you can check every detail. Now, there's a toggle to zoom in and out of the timeline view.

Audio-only Recordings 🎤

A simple, yet personal way to add voiceovers to your Arcades.

Feature improvements:

  • We've made our camera recording process more resilient and less likely to lose any of your work.

Last week the team focused on squashing lots of bugs, including:

  • Fixed an issue where some hotspots/callouts were rendering on the edge of Arcades
  • Fixed an issue where iFrames were adding space on Safari when viewed on mobile
  • Fixed an issue where the form will was not working correctly for a customer on mobile

Theme personalization

Themes allow teams to add tracking, personalization, and branding to multiple Arcades versus having to set up every time. This ensures brand consistency and saves time.

Now, you can add background music and toggle autoplay controls on the theme-level.

Bug Fixes:

Last week the team focused on squashing lots of bugs, including:

  • Fixed an issue where form fills were not rendering on a customers' demo on mobile
  • Fixed an issue where hotspots were not flipping when set to auto
