How to Change Background Color on Canva

This is an Arcade

Changing the background color in Canva helps set the tone for your design and makes your content stand out. You can use solid colors, gradients, or images.

1. Open Your Design in Canva

Go to Canva and open the project where you want to change the background.

2. Select the Background

Click on any blank space of the canvas. If a background color is already applied, it will be highlighted.

3. Click the Color Tile

In the top toolbar, click the Background color tile to open the color options.

4. Choose a New Color

Pick from Canva’s default palette, enter a hex code, or use the color picker tool to set a custom color.

5. Apply Gradient or Image (Optional)

Instead of a solid color, you can search for Gradients or Photos in the Elements tab and drag one onto your background for extra style.
