How to Add Music to a Google Slides Presentation

This is an Arcade

Add music, sound, or other audio files to Google Slides to boost engagement. Follow these steps for uploading audio files to your presentation.

1. Open Your Google Slides Presentation

Go to Google Slides and open the presentation where you want to add music.

2. Insert Audio File

Click Insert in the top menu, then select Audio. Choose an MP3 or WAV file from your Google Drive to insert.

3. Position the Audio Icon

An audio icon will appear on your slide. Drag it to where you want it displayed, or move it off the slide if you don’t want it visible.

4. Adjust Playback Options

Click the audio icon, then use the Format options panel on the right. Under Audio playback, select whether the music should play On click or Automatically, and whether it should Loop.

5. Set Volume and Hide Icon (Optional)

Still in Format options, adjust the volume slider. Check the Hide icon when presenting if you don’t want the icon showing during playback.

6. Test Your Music

Enter Present mode and play through your slide to confirm the music starts correctly and settings work as expected.
