How to Find Duplicates in Excel

Need to check for duplicate values in Excel? Learn how to identify duplicates and highlight them using Conditional Formatting with these step-by-step instructions.

1. Select the cell range
Highlight the range of cells where you want to check for duplicate values.

2. Open Conditional Formatting
Go to the Home tab in the Excel toolbar, then click Conditional Formatting.

3. Choose Duplicate Values
In the Conditional Formatting dropdown, hover over Highlight Cell Rules, then click Duplicate Values.

4. Adjust formatting options
Choose the highlight style you prefer, or leave the default settings, then click OK.

5. View the highlighted duplicates
Excel will now highlight any duplicate values in the selected range.
